Lola Roastery :
Coffee roasting is a serious art. It consists of a delicate balance of exhilarating aromas, popping sounds, right-handed timing and left-brained intuition; Daniel Wayne, owner and head roaster at Lola Roastery, masters it all. Hand roasting, latte art, discovering new exotic beans and sharing his passion for coffee has been an everyday ritual of Daniel's for over ten years. The result: smooth and delicate tasting coffee that inspires and awakens your senses, making the connection between you and Lola's coffee an intimate one after just one sip.
Humble beginnings best describe Daniel's journey into the coffee world. Working at an independently owned coffee bar in 1993, Daniel knew his passion was to inspire his customers creating absolute quality. Putting a lien on his 1963 Volvo, he was able to build his first espresso cart located on Central Avenue in downtown Phoenix. Though his customer base initially was small, he thrived on pouring a beautifulespresso. From quality came success.
Five locations opened the first year including Symphony Hall, Phoenix Civic Plaza, Herberger Theatre, Bank One high-rise and the San Carlos Hotel. In 2000 he began roasting at his creation, Lux Coffee Bar. His "all in house" philosophy made this location an instant success giving Daniel absolute control over his coffee. An avid barista in the coffee world, he went on to win the Millrock Latte Art competition in Las Vegas in 2003 bringing national attention from the Food Network. Now located at 8th Street and Camelback, Lola Roastery brings its coffees to the commercial market. Let his passion fuel your desire for the perfect cup.
